Easy FREE Pattern – Shower Turban
No doubt you have seen these Shower Turbans on TV and in the stores. I know that I have.
When they first came out they were $20. Now the price has come down to $5 and $10 depending on where you shop.
I always thought it would be nice to have a couple of these in the bathroom. With my long hair is sometimes difficult to get my hair to wrap in a towel and stay put. The towel is always falling off my head. I know that many of you can relate. The towel just doesn’t stay.
I have found several diagrams online that gave me the general shape and measurements. But those diagrams weren’t much help. I couldn’t find a pattern. So I decided to make a pattern for the shower turban.
I put some extra star designs on the pattern to help you put it together easier.
It is a really straight forward pattern. Cut 2 out of bath towel or other fabric of your choice. Sew along the outside curve. Finish the one edge off with binding or just serge it. The choice is yours. Use a pony tail elastic in the back seam. This will attach to your button.
When you get your shower turban finished, there are two different ways you can put it on. See diagram below.
I did have my doubts when I saw the size of the pattern. But I was pleasantly surprised that it really was the right size. These Shower Turbans are so much more comfortable than balancing a big wad of towel on your head.
I bought large bath towels and was able to make 3 Shower Turbans. So I had 1 to keep and 2 to share. My friends loved getting them. I love the fact that I can choose the color and the quality of the towel by picking towels that are super soft.
I hope you have enjoyed this FREE Pattern – Shower Turban.
